In the summer of 2018, the 3rd ICSLA took place at Koc University, Istanbul (sponsored by NWO, ERC, TUBITAK, TDK, Cocuk Egitim Dernegi, Gallaudet University Press, Koc University and Radboud University). This is the only international conference with a theme of sign language acquisition covering both first and second language learners, from typical to atypical populations. I acted as the head of the organising committee, which hosted several internationally recognized deaf and hearing sign language researchers. in this 3-day event, deaf and hearing people and researchers had a chance to meet and exchange ideas.
